I’ve been walking frequently in Hillcrest. Every time I walk past Record City on Sixth Avenue, I’m reminded of simpler times. As a product of the 70’s and 80’s, I grew up listening to the albums of the 70’s and the 80’s. The posters in the window front of Record City make me smile every time I see them…David Bowie, Blondie and Jimi Hendrix. They remind of listening to albums in my room and making cassette mix tapes to share with friends when I was a kid. Also, the music of 70’s and 80’s was played on Friday nights at the local roller rink. Awww, youth…cherish the times. Maybe one of these days I’ll put on a pair of roller skates and jam out to the music of the 70’s and 80’s again. But for now, I’ll continue to walk past Record City while listening to my favorites with earbuds. I will stop in Record City to take a peak inside one of these days.
