Honoring Those Who Have Served This Memorial Day Weekend

San Diego Uncategorized

It’s Memorial Day weekend 2020…  It’s a time to honor the men and women who have passed away while serving in the U.S. military.  This also seems like an appropriate time to honor not only the military members who have passed, but also anyone who has passed fighting this virus.  It’s been a struggle for many service and non-service members.  It’s a time to honor everyone fighting to keep this Country going in the face of the Coronavirus.  “Thank You” to all service members, essential workers and healthcare providers for everything you’ve been doing! You are all amazing and words can not convey how thankful we are for your service.

On Monday, May 25th, 2020 at 9:00am PST, there will be a live Memorial Day broadcast, provided by the USS Midway, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial. The event is live, however a recording should be made available if it exceeds capacity.  Here is the link to the event: https://www.midway.org/memorialdaylive/

As San Diego slowly begins re-opening restaurants, parks, beaches, etc., please remember to continue to stay safe by practicing social distancing, using face coverings, washing hands frequently and staying home if feeling sick.  I’m looking forward to eventually putting some group activities back onto the calendar, hopefully sooner than later.

In the meantime, this is an ongoing list of San Diego restaurants that are re-opening: https://sandiego.eater.com/2020/5/21/21266289/san-diego-restaurants-fully-reopened-dine-in-service

Also, these are the San Diego parks that are currently open, however some parking lots may still be closed. https://www.sandiego.gov/park-and-recreation/parks

Have a Safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
